It’s summertime in the Lowcountry, the carefree months that we all look forward to. Each year visitors and residents alike take full advantage of the wave of offerings on the calendar here in Summerville, Goose Creek and beyond during the summer and early fall. Whether you prefer to stay close to home or hit the road to explore various corners of the Lowcountry, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the season. From patriotic Independence Day activities to foodie events to waterside beach music soirees, take a look at what’s coming up and prepare to dive in to your own summer fun!
Carnes Crossroads Farmers’ Market
Wednesdays, 3 to 6 p.m.
Few things exemplify summer more than plump, vine-ripened tomatoes and other fresh veggies and fruits picked at the peak of perfection. Stock up on the Lowcountry’s bounty of offerings at this popular weekly event!
Loggerhead Sea Turtle Night Walks
June 7 – July 31, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Take a trip down to Edisto and join members of the interpretive staff from Edisto Beach State Park for a special program on the life cycle of the amazing loggerhead sea turtle, followed by a walk along the beach in search of sea turtle nests or hatchling activity! $15 per adult and $10 per child (ages 11-15).
