St. Jude Walk/Run Update:
As expected, St. Jude has canceled the in-person portion of its annual fundraising event nationwide, including here at Carnes Crossroads. They have announced plans for this year’s virtual event for Charleston. We’ll miss having them here! For information about the virtual campaigns click here. Please let Jennifer (jshirkman@ccmc.net.com) know if anyone is interested in joining a team. The POA office has a Team “SC CCMC”, and Carnes neighbor Ryoko Abbott also has a team “Carnes Crossroads Cruisers” if anyone would like to join us please register under the team name. We will be running and sending in our time! If you would like to donate it would also be appreciated.

Memorial Bench and Tree Donation Program:
Based on resident input, the POA has developed a protocol for those who would like to have a tree or bench placed in one of the community’s common areas in order to commemorate a loved one or event. To read more about how this voluntary program works, click here. This information and the form are posted on the Resources section of carnespoa.org.

Back to School Supply Drive:
The POA office will have a box located outside on the porch of the Information Center for school supply donations. Hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, antibacterial soap, and tissues are going to be a need as students return to school during this time. All donations of any kind are and will be appreciated. Donations will be accepted starting August 17th-August 24th. All donations will be given to the Berkeley County School District for distribution.

Philips Park Playground Trees:
You may have noticed a few dead trees at the new park/playground at Hewitt and Carnes Crossing. We have been informed that these trees will be replaced in 4-6 weeks, once the weather cools and the nursery is confident that the replacement trees will transplant without stressing the trees.Other Reminders and Helpful Links:
