Northwood Academy Opens New Football Stadium at Carnes Crossroads With 42-18 Win
The Northwood Academy Chargers took to the field with a home team advantage for the first time in the team’s history with an impressive win over Hilton Head Christian Academy on September 15th. The soggy game – played in a steady rain – marked the home opener for the Chargers, and the first home game on their brand-new (and first ever) home stadium.
“This is a big win for our program,” said Northwood head coach Phil Keefe. “I am proud of our football team. It was a tough night weather-wise against a really good opponent but our players were never affected. We played and executed pretty well overall.” The game gave the Chargers a 3-0 start to the SCISA football season.
The new football stadium, located on the Northwood Assembly campus at Carnes Crossroads, is the first step towards Northwood Academy relocating its private school (K-12) to our community. Complete with a scoreboard, press box and large concessions stand, the facility is the first of several athletic fields that will eventually be part of the campus.
