Northwood Academy Begins New Era at Carnes Crossroads

Northwood Academy opened the first phase of its new home at Carnes Crossroads with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony and Open House on August 5th. The debut of the sparkling new facility marks the first of two phases of the school’s transition to its Carnes Crossroads campus. The Upper School (grades 6-12) will open for classes at the new building on August 15. The Academy’s Lower School (grades K-5) is scheduled to move to the campus next summer.

Carnes Crossroads is already home to Northwood Assembly’s house of worship and the Academy’s athletic fields. “Our vision has always been to have our school and church come together on one campus,” said Fred Richard, Senior Pastor at Northwood Church.

“We knew that the Carnes Crossroad location would be the center of future growth for the Tri-county area and we are excited to have Northwood Academy positioned right in the middle of it.” Karen Morgan, Director of Early Education, says the ribbon cutting means more than the dedication of the buildings. “We’re building a legacy that will benefit future generations long after we’re gone.”

From humble beginnings as a one-room school in 1978, Northwood Academy has grown into one of the top college preparatory schools in the region. The completion of the first phase of the Academy’s new campus at Carnes Crossroads moves the school into the home stretch of realizing its vision of consolidating its campus and positioning itself for future growth.

We congratulate Northwood Academy on achieving this milestone and are proud to have them as our neighbor at Carnes Crossroads!
