History buffs, nature lovers, foodies, sports enthusiasts and golfers alike will find plenty of activities to keep them occupied year-round. History

Carnes Crossroads is named after Dallas V. Carnes, an early 20th-century property owner who farmed this tract of land. The intersection of the two historic roads that form part of the boundary of our community — St. James Ave. (US Highway 176) and North Main St. (US Highway 17-A) – marks the center of this area’s bourgeoning growth corridor and has historically been referred to as Carnes Crossroads.
